technical description
The RDA-2000 Radar Data Acquisition board is a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf
(COTS) PCI Board that is designed to be installed in a standard PC. The
board receives radar video, trigger and azimuth signals from a radar
unit. The incoming radar signals are digitized, processed and then transferred
via the PCI bus to the host computer. The board can be used as a front
end to
support acquisition and storage of high-resolution radar data, LAN-based
radar distribution and Digital Plot Extraction for target tracking applications.
The RDA-2000 samples the incoming radar video at 160MHz to provide extremely
high-resolution radar data. On-board Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
circuits are implemented with programmable logic to allow algorithms
to be tailored to match a wide range of different applications. Radar
can be captured in a defined sector(s) or over the entire radar coverage
area. Programmable gain, offset, Sensitivity Time Control (STC) processing,
digital video thresholding, range decimation, azimuth decimation, and
vector time
stamping is supported.
