Folsom Research Target Extractor Board Sets are an integral part of the USN Ship's Self Defense System (SSDS) Program.

technical description

The Radar Target Extractor Board Set receives radar video, trigger, and azimuth signals from a radar unit and processes these signals to extract target data. The data extracted from each Pulse Repetition Interval (PRI) is formatted into a series of radar target messages. These messages are then transmitted to the host CPU over the VMEbus. The host CPU receives the radar target message and integrates data from successive vectors to identify the azimuth extent of targets as well as performing target tracking functions such as generation of speed and heading reports. Folsom Research Target Extractor Board Sets are an integral part of the USN Ship's Self Defense System (SSDS) Program.
